Inside of the Blessed Sacrament and outside
One of the highlights of the day for each of us pilgrims (I always ask on the drive home) was the visit to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Not only did we receive the explanation from all of the details from Kevin, but were also able to take part in the Respect Life Rosary lead by Kevin and his fellow Brother Knight, Michael. It was a beautiful rosary with a long, meaningful litany afterwards and then the Divine Mercy Chaplet. It was especially moving because, with the acoustics of the chapel, the baritone voices of the males echoed strongly throughout the chapel. It really felt as if we were 100 instead of being about a dozen. It is wonderful to hear or watch women pray, but the strength of listening to men pray together is truly amazing, and then to have great acoustics? Wow!!!!
At the end of the rosary, Kevin asked if we would like to hear a song about St. Therese. None of us were aware that any song existed, so we rapidly responded positively. It turns out that Kevin not only is a great guide, but has a great voice as well. You can see the video below.

Afterwards, Kevin took us outside to view some of the beauty outside. There was a statue to our Blessed Mother (the fingers of which were stolen, something that we saw repeatedly throughout the day), a beautiful gazebo, and another statue to St. Therese surrounded by roses. If you don't understand about why St. Therese would be surrounded by roses, please, click on this link and read about her.
We ended our visit to the Shrine of St. Therese by thanking both Kevin and Michael for helping make our visit so special before heading to St. John's the Cathedral of the Diocese of Fresno. They are truly examples of Christian love and charity by making our visit special. They even gave us directions to the Cathedral.
